Brownlee was very good indeed, pleasant sound, good technique, no projection problems. Then I saw Florez, and, well, he's not Florez. But worth seeing.

My brief, incomplete Cenerentola review here: http://micaelabaranello.blogspot.com/2006/11/la-cenerentola-in-philly.htm

I agree that the Barbiere production was inoffensive, but after the crime that was committed against the audiences's eyes at Cenerentola, that was a relief.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17999907.post-1163285990978718552006-11-11T17:59:00.000-05:002006-11-11T17:59:00.000-05:00The ones in March are still Florez and yes, we rea...The ones in March are still Florez and yes, we really do need to. RIGHT? When we did Barber in my undergrad opera class The Professor took great delight in telling us about 'Cessa' and how now there's this great young tenor who can actually sing it...

Damn Thanksgiving break comes at just the wrong time. And we need to go see an opera ensemble, dear Maury.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
