amazing amazing amazing!

I think I'm going to try and see the Ross-star talk about his book when he visits the Balto-DC area (maybe even twice) in Nov.

Do share what you think about it!!

What's with the cats? How many opera/classical music bloggers have cats? Alex Ross? Maury?. Do each of the Wellsung twins? Does la Cieca? I sneeze just looking at the screen. (My cat allergy is real, my allergy to children was determined to be psychosomatic.)

Anonymous, dearie, I share both your allergies, children and cats. But because (as opposed to children) I'm fond of cats, I have one, whose visage I occasionally foist upon you. Please indulge my silly foible. And for the record, yes, to the best of my knowledge: the Wellsung twins have a cat apiece, La Cieca has a lovely black one I think, and Alex Ross has an orangey one and a rather exotic one, both of which have made photographic appearances on his blog. For some reason, we all love cats, it does seem.

Speaking of cats & bloggers (as opposed to katz 'n' jammers, I suppose), we have two at our house. My son named the big one Finn (not in honor of Huck, he claims, although silent on the real reason), and the miniature one is Fagen (because my wife insists he's nutsy fagen). Naturally we call them Big Kitty and Minnie Kitty. BTW, I expect my Opera Blog will crank up again in a couple of weeks after a ten-month hiatus.

oh, I have a cat too - he is very discerning regarding music, but doesn't read yet.
Alex, should I use your book to teach him? I think = yes.
